Already Home Campaign

Part of the Adelaide City Council’s Already Home project, a film series on city living in Adelaide. The project was the recipient of the 2011 AADC’s Master Chair.

Produced by Urtext Films, for the Adelaide City Council

Already Home was a landmark digital storytelling project to encourage city living in Adelaide, Australia. The project consisted of captivating portraits of everyday city life, romantically told by Adelaide’s leading filmmakers, in addition to written stories and photographic essays. Matt and Rosie were commissioned to create two of the four films in the project.

Knowing the Postman (via Clemenger BBDO)
This film takes a look at the Hutt Street Precinct, where Urtext Films based itself during its time in Adelaide. The film in part represents our feelings towards this almost village-like part of the city.

Sounds of Life
A film that demonstrated how the sounds of the city are intricately woven into the city-living experience, told through our subject Paul, a musician/composer who lives in Rundle Street. The film had a tactical motive – preparing would-be city-dwellers to the sounds that city life brings, and how to look at them as a positive part of life in Adelaide.

A particular feature of the film is its rich and layered soundtrack, that is a careful balance of voice, atmospheric sounds, and music. We worked long and hard with sound designer Matt McKenzie-Smith to piece together many layers of sounds, that we would record on our daily journeys throughout the city.
